ALEX SAB AND HIS SANTANA’S BAND OF GHANA / ASHANTI KOTOKO / GSLP 1016

This is a brilliant and vibrant masterpiece of Ghanaian guitar-band highlife: Alex Sab & His Santanas Band Of Ghana — Ashanti Kotoko, released on the Nigerian/regional Grandstar Records imprint (Catalog No: GSLP 1016) in 1981.

Masterminded by bandleader and songwriter Alex Sab alongside his powerhouse Santanas Band of Ghana, this stellar 1981 album captures the infectious twin-guitar interplay, driving percussion, and rich vocal harmonies that defined the golden age of West African highlife.
